By this point you’ve taken the three inventories on your physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. It is clear to you now by how you answered the questions if there has been damage created in any one area.
By now you’ve discovered that some of the changes you’ve made in your life have perhaps not been for the positive. You’ve actually
been able to gain a very high level of awareness as to if this was in the physical, emotional or spiritual form by answering the questions I laid out for you in the past few posts.
So please take one area at a time to work on. The point of this is not to become overwhelmed with MORE negative self-talk. You are reading this to gain a new level of awareness and learn tips to turn negative into positive changes.
Let’s take the physical first. If you answered yes to the majority of the questions I asked in that post then there has been damage that has occurred in some physical sense to your body. It may be in the form of weight gain or loss, addictive behaviors or a negative physical reaction such as anxiety, depression, illness or another disorder.
WHAT TO DO?
See it clearly. Don’t discount it, negotiate with it, deny it, or dismiss it. See it for what it is without judgment or criticism. Observe it like a very curious investigative reporter and answer these questions:
• How did this happen?
• When did it happen?
• How do you feel about it?
• Where did it take place?
• Who else was involved with it?
Answer each question as if you were writing a report. You’re in the discovery mode. It’s not time for emotion. You’re trying to see it clearly and with no judgment. Write each answer down on paper. Write the question at the top of the page and then let it flow. Between your subconscious and your conscious, it will become crystal clear.
Take one question a day for a week and write. Follow your instincts. If you need two days to write on each question, take it. This is your healing and nobody else’s.
Meditate on it. Even if you’ve never meditated, take some time and do it now. Sit in a very comfortable way. Have no distractions. Hopefully you’re the only one in your house or sit quietly alone in nature where you usually have experienced a great feeling of peace.
Take 3 deep cleansing breaths. Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. Use yoga breathing. Breathe in through your nose, and let your stomach expand and breathe out through your mouth and let all of the air out of your stomach as if you’re deflating it.
Relax your body. Tighten your feet and release. Tighten your legs and slowly release. Take your time. Tighten your stomach and release. Tighten your hands and release. Tighten your arms and release. Tighten your back and neck and release. Tighten your face like a lion and release. Just notice if you are still holding tightness in any area and go back and do that one again.
Write down the answers to your questions and practice your breathing in a lovely meditative space, and we’ll add more on to this healing tomorrow.
