Do you try to fast forward to the future at times? Do you find yourself more in the “what if” than the “what now” phase? Why do you tend to project into the future instead of stay present in the now? Let me try to answer some of these questions!
There is a tendency for many people to focus their thoughts and attention toward the future rather than focusing and being
fully present in the NOW. You might find yourself doing this because you feel there’s more hope or positives in the future than at this very moment in your life. You might not actually LIKE what’s going on right now in your life, so dwelling on what could happen in the future becomes more attractive than focusing on what’s happening at this present moment.
How many people find that they are having financial difficulties, so they dream on what it would be like to win the lottery? Or they think what if I could just find a job making X-amount of dollars? Wouldn’t that be perfect? Or they might even wonder if there’s an inheritance out there they don’t know about?
What about people that are in unfulfilling relationships? Many individuals will actually program their dreams on what their perfect partner would look like or read romance novels to project what it would feel like to fall in love that way!
What about people that have a God-given talent like singing, dancing, playing an instrument, acting, painting or writing? Often they will find themselves dreaming about a fantasy where they’re up on stage entertaining thousands or visualizing their book on the New York Times bestseller list.
What about, what if, maybe, could I? You may even find yourself singing to the tunes of Dusty Springfield, “Wishin’ and hopin’ and thinkin’ and prayin.” They are all wonderful in terms of you being able to hold a vision or a dream of what you want in your life, but there has to be a plan to be in the NOW to actually implement all your wonderful visions in the future!
Here are the 3 steps to making your dreams happen!
1. Write down the dream or the vision you hold for yourself.
2. List 10 behaviors under each vision where your vision would be the end result.
3. Fully commit to doing one of these behaviors each week for the next 12 weeks.
Let me give you an example! One of my visions is to spread my message worldwide for peace and healing. One of my behaviors for that vision to be fulfilled is to blog 3 to 4 days a week and post a “healing” message on my Facebook fanpage each day. I have committed to that for the last two years and my blog has increased from 20 followers to more than two thousand subscribers. And, my Facebook fanpage has increased from 10 followers to more than 5,000 people over the last two years!.
As I stay true to my vision, eventually and exponentially I will reach more and more like-minded souls in the world to receive my message. Thank you to all of you who follow me. Please help me even more and share this blog and/or my New Pathway to Healing Facebook fanpage with a few of your friends.
We can make a difference in the world and raise world consciousness just one at a time! If you need any help being fully present in the moment, just email me at petey@newpathwaytohealing.com, and I’d be happy to help you!
