Joy is in the heart and eye of the beholder. When joyful moments or people present themselves to you, it is necessary to recognize them. Often times, they go unrecognized and become discounted in your experiences.
Seeing and validating each joyful moment, whether it is as small as noticing the first beautiful blossom of spring or larger such as getting the promotion you’ve been waiting for at work, will allow each moment to be catalogued in your mind and heart as happy times.
Having the ability to fall back and remember these happy times is a must when you are also being presented with more challenging moments. Having the opportunity to pull up past joys at a moment’s notice is a tool for remembering that all difficult times are not everlasting. Difficulties will come and go, but the sheer joy of beauty, love and abundance may become etched in your memories forever. It becomes your choice to commit to your history that which is joyful or that which has created much angst.
It is always your quest and journey in this lifetime to see and feel each and every joyful moment for it is then a clear memory of your time spent with spirit before you arrived in this lifetime. The choice is yours to make.
What is one joyful moment from your past that has been etched for a lifetime?

Joy is watching my children. Last night, it was when I peeked in on each child one last time before I went to sleep. Seeing one snuggled up with a stuffed kitty, the other with their arms open wide, one can not help but feel wonderful joy. They immediately bring a smile that warms my heart. This morning’s joy arrived with my 7 year old son asking to climb into my bed to snuggle, a half an hour before the alarm was suppose to go off. Sure, I could have used that extra half an hour to sleep, but I also know it won’t be much longer before these morning surprises stop. I love and cherish these joyful moments. Finding joy with my children are daily gifts from God.
How perfectly lovely that you recognize this S! I can only add to your thoughts a quote from Mother Teresa…”Joy is a net of love by which you can catch souls. A joyful heart is the inevitable result of a heart burning with love.”
